Good morning--
=20
Here are the September events. I especially encourage you to =
participate in
the Communication Workshop. This is the workshop I do around the United
States to help Sanghas create an atmosphere of understanding.=20
=20
Our Buddhist Studies class begins this evening. It is perfect for =
beginning
and senior students as we will be studying the earliest Buddhist
texts--words the Buddha actually said to his followers.

Buddhist Studies Class: Selections from the Majjhima Nikaya

September 5, 12, 19, 26, 7:30 - 8:30pm

	  	=20
These four classes during the month of September will focus on =
selections
from "Majjhima Nikaya--the Middle Length Discourses of the Buddha." The
Majjhima Nikaya is a collection of Buddha's original words and the part =
of
the Pali Canon which explores Nirvana and the Four Noble Truths. Please =
join
us for an interactive examination of this historic text. This class is =
free
for pledging members, for others we suggest a $40 donation. =09

Communication Workshop

September 15-17, Time: 7 PM Friday--Noon Sunday

"Why doesn't she ever listen to me?!?" "He just doesn't get it!"
Communicating with family, friends, co-workers, bosses employees, board
members, or almost anyone who touches our life can be exasperating.=20
This "Difficult Conversations" workshop will introduce the participants =
to a
process to be used when the other party doesn't seem to understand us or =
has
even stopped talking. It is a specific step-by-step means to effectively
create win-win solutions for all the parties.. We will also develop our
listening skills as we use exercises and role plays to practice the =
process.
Ultimately, crafting solutions that work for everyone involved is a =
deeply
spiritual activity, much needed during these days when peace seems so =
very
elusive.=20
In a "previous life" Kyoki was a mediator and mediation trainer for the
State of Nebraska.=20
$75 for non-members and $40 for pledging members. Registration is =
limited!
